Drops
Turtles are slow on land but make excellent aquatic mounts. It should be noted that they apear to give you limitless O2 while exploring beneath the surface of the water (not anymore). You can also carry other small tames, ie. Chickens, while riding them.
Stats
Taming
Turtle can be tamed by passively feeding them fruit and vegetables.
Combat
Turtles have different damage zones, hitting a turtle on its shell will greatly reduce the amount of damage it will receive, but hitting it in the head or legs will cause normal damage.

Notes
Turtles were updated to be tamable, but it was never mentioned in the patch release notes.
