==Overview== The world of ATLAS contains four types of zones/servers. Freeport, Lawless, Golden Age Ruin and "Open". Each island in an open server is a Settlement which may be claimed by a Company. Each settlement has an associated island point requirement and a periodic cost of ownership. Whilst the costs of ownership are paid, all structures placed by the owning company are protected from decay, although they may still take damage from weapons and artillery in the combat phase. However, wild animals can still deal damage to structures in the peace phase. Apart from that, ships of other players can also be claimed. ==Location== {| class="wikitable" ! !A !B !C !D !E !F !G !H !I !J !K |- !1 |A1 |B1 |C1 |D1 |E1 |F1 |G1 |H1 |I1 |J1 |K1 |- !2 |A2 |B2 |C2 |D2 |E2 |F2 |G2 |H2 |I2 |J2 |K2 |- !3 |A3 |B3 |C3 |D3 | | | | |I3 |J3 |K3 |- !4 |A4 |B4 | | | | | | |I4 |J4 |K4 |- !5 |A5 |B5 | | | | | | | |J5 |K5 |- !6 |A6 |B6 | | | | | | | |J6 |K6 |- !7 |A7 |B7 | | | | | | | |J7 |K7 |- !8 |A8 |B8 |C8 | | | | | | |J8 |K8 |- !9 |A9 |B9 |C9 | | | | |H9 |I9 |J9 |K9 |- !10 |A10 |B10 |C10 |D10 |E10 |F10 |G10 |H10 |I10 |J10 |K10 |- !11 |A11 |B11 |C11 |D11 |E11 |F11 |G11 |H11 |I11 |J11 |K11 |} == Peace & Combat Phase == Every island has a combat and peace phase. The time at which each island has it's combat phase can be changed once a week by holding E on your Claim Flag. While an island is in peace phase, enemy players can't do any damage to the governing company's structures on the island. In the combat phase, other players may try to conquer your island, by placing their Claim Flag near the already existing Claim Flag. Because of this, you should always try to protect the claiming radius of your flag. ==Island Points== Each Company in ATLAS has a number of Island Points that scales with the number of members. The exact numbers are different on PVE and PVP servers. A company with 36 members on NA-PVE has 115 Island Points. On the player's inventory atlas, unclaimed settlements show the required points as a number in square brackets, e.g. [57]. Companies can claim as many settlements as they have available Island Points. For example, the sample company has claimed a 57 point and 15 point island. They have used 72 of their 115 island points, leaving 43 points available for further claims. ==Upkeep== In addition to the required Island Points, settlements require a periodic payment of Gold Coins. The upkeep cost scales with the size of the settlement. Costs are sometimes different on PVE and PVP server, but not always. Examples: * A 15 point settlement on NA PVE in K11 costs 76 gold every 12 hours. * A 15 point settlement on EU PVP in O12 costs 76 gold every 12 hours. * A 45 point settlement on NA PVE costs: ------> 275 gold every 12 hours. * A 57 point island on NA PVE in E10 costs ~369 gold every 12 hours. Gold Coins must be placed in the Claim Flag inventory. If the stored gold runs out, the company will lose the claim of the island and all of the earned taxes within the Claim Flag. It will get easier to claim for others, because enemy players don't need to place their flag within the radius of an already expired flag. ==Crew Resource Usage== A setting in the flag allows the owners to allow the flag to pay and feed for crew anchored at the island. Claimed islands will show this information in the top right near the settlement name. Example: Settlement: Best Island ++ (Company Name) *- - Claim Flag resources are not shared. *+ - Claim Flag resources are for the island owner company only. *++ - Claim Flag resources are for the island owner company and allies. *+++ - Claim Flag resources are for the island owner company, allies, and others. ==Claiming and Contesting== F1 is the default key to use the feat to place a Claim Flag. Place your Claim Flag on an island, or on a enemy ship. If the island is already claimed by someone else, place it within the radius of an already existing Claim Flag to contest it. Place the Claim Flag when it glows green. If it is red you will contest another claimed area. It will take 1 hour to claim an unclaimed island, but 2 hours if it is already claimed, the enemy claim flag inventory will be lost after claiming. Claiming a Sloop will take 12 hours, while a Raft will take around 6 hours to take over. ===Possible HUD Information=== {| class="wikitable" |- ! HUD !! This will cause the time required to steal the territory to start increasing at a very rapid rate. The person interrupting your contest claim does not need to be part of the contested company, so random passers-by can accidentally reset the timer back to full in the time it takes to run through. Even an unconscious/logged out member may be able to contest if it is unknown if it can still claim over it even if they have been inactive after the 3 days of inactivity. == Removing A Territory Claim == To remove your claim from a territory, simply demolish the territory claim flag. This will instantly change the island's status from "claimed" to "unclaimed." Demolishing your flag will create an item cache containing all items that were previously stored in your claim flag. This cache will decay over time. Additionally, if you have constructed a bank, demolishing the flag will render your bank useless unless you were to reclaim the island. =Flag Color = {| class="wikitable" |- ! You need a picture with 256x256 Pixels. The finished picture should be uploaded to a pnt converter or you can save the picture with your Program as a .pnt file. You can also use the ARKpnt converter. If you use the converter you need to download and save the file. For example,
_ClaimingFlag_IslandSettlement_C.png In the game directory "\steamapps\common\ATLAS\ShooterGame\Saved\MyPaintings" If everything went well, you should choose the painting when you use the brush to paint the flag. ==Gallery== <gallery widths="240" heights="180" mode="nolines"> File:Claim flag radial pve.png </gallery> ==Patch History== {| class="wikitable sortable mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" ! To grab someone's ID for the inclusion/exclusion list, you'll need to look at a structure they've placed which will list their Company ID; this number can be input into the flag's list system to prevent/enable building. Please note that exclusion/inclusion lists are not saved when altering building permissions, so switching from 'Everyone' can build to 'Company & Alliances' only will clear your list should you wish to return to 'Everyone' can build. * All claim flags will use the 'Everyone can build' as a default setting when placed, and this will also be a retroactive change. However, it will not function until Thursday the 10th of January, where we will release another server update to make this setting active. This means you will have two days, from Tuesday to Thursday, to decide and adjust the settings on your claim flag before the change is live. * Only admins and above will be able to make changes to company claims. * Claim Flags will have icons above them to represent their owner and setting. Your claim flags have a green icon. Claim Flags belonging to your allies that do not permit you to build, have a blue icon, or purple if they do belong to your allies and allow you to build. Claim Flags which belong to your enemies and do not allow you to build have red icons, or yellow if they belong to your enemies and enable you to build within them. * Fixed some bugs related to Sea Claims. * Enemy Claim Flags can now be directly pinged to identify any contesting enemies nearby * The time required to steal an enemy claim now decreases the more Claims that enemy team has. * Looking at your Claim Flag will show you how many land claims you have, and looking at an enemy one will show you how many land flags they have, note that this does not update dynamically on the client for server performance reasons. To always have the latest number, you can relog or re-enter stasis range of the Claim Flag. |- |10.42||Fixed some bugs related to Sea Claims, Enemy Claim Flags can now be directly pinged to identify any contesting enemies nearby, and the time required to steal an enemy claim now decreases the more Claims that enemy team has. |- |10 || client for server performance reasons.
