Basic Information[ | ]
Behavior[ | ]
Turtles are defensive, which means they will just peacefully roam around. But they will defend themselves if they will get hit. You can encounter them on the land- and waterside of the beach.
Appearance[ | ]
Turtles look like the smaller version of the ARK counterpart Carbonemys, but in a much smaller size.
Drops[ | ]
Stats[ | ]
Taming[ | ]
Turtle can be tamed by passively feeding them fruit and vegetables.
Combat[ | ]
Turtles have different damage zones, hitting a turtle on its shell will greatly reduce the amount of damage it will receive, but hitting it in the head or legs will cause normal damage.
Utility[ | ]
When mounted, will float on the surface of water/the ocean (no longer a thing unless holding the jump button to remain ascended).
Movement in the water costs stamina, but if you stop moving, stamina is restored relatively quickly.
Currently there is a -50% oxygen depletion rate while riding
Turtles dont take as much damage as other tames of their tier, and are good for keeping hostile creatures busy when you need to reload, heal, change equipment, etc.
Notes[ | ]
Turtles were updated to be tamable, but it was never mentioned in the patch release notes.
Turtles are slow on land but make excellent aquatic mounts. You can also carry other small tames, ie. Chickens, while riding them.
