Schooners are one of the medium Ships in ATLAS.

Build info[edit | edit source]

Once you have built a Small Shipyard, you will have the option to build the Ship Skeleton for the Schooner. Additionally, you will need to build the Sails, Steering Wheel, Medium Planks, Medium Deck, and various Wooden Structures to complete the ship.

Ship Skeleton[edit | edit source]

The ship skeleton is required to place all of the ships' various parts. The Sails, Planks, and Deck all attach to this structure. The Steering Wheel and the various Wooden Structures cannot attach to this structure. See the Table below for the cost in building this structure.

Ship Skeleton
Piece(s) Material Amount Total Required
1 Fiber 332 332
Metal 42 42
Thatch 540 540
Wood 390 390

Medium Wood Ship Deck[edit | edit source]

A Medium Wood Ship Deck is required to place any Wooden Structures and the Ship's Steering Wheel.

A Schooner supports two decks; a bottom deck and a upper deck. You are not required to have both decks. The top deck is hollow and requires Wooden structures if you want to fill it in.

A Schooner has 4.0 units of sail available, meaning that there are 4 combinations of sails: 4 Small Sails or 2 Small Sails and 1 Medium Sail, 2 Medium Sails, or 1 Small Sail and 1 Large Sail. Below is the combined costs for each listed combination:

Medium Wooden Planks[edit | edit source]

A Schooner requires 28 Medium Wood Planks in order to be seaworthy. It is capable of having up to 10 Medium Wood Gunports included in that number. Below shows the cost of no gunports and the full compliment of gun ports:

Ship Steering Wheel[edit | edit source]

All ships require a steering wheel to turn and direct NPCs. The Table below shows the cost:

Wooden Structures[edit | edit source]

A minimum of 32 Wooden Ceilings are required to seal the top deck (though this will prevent access to the lower deck). It is recommended that you place at least 1 Wooden Roof or Wooden Staircase as a way to access the bottom deck. (ships come with an emergency ladder for climbing aboard at sea, though additional rope ladders may be added) Below shows two tables of costs to fill in the deck vs access to the lower deck:
