Taming
Ostriches can be tamed by using vegetables or berries. Chili are the most effective. They must be taken down to 20% health, hit with a 
Bola, and force fed on a timer.
Utility
The ostrich is useful for exploring/taming due to its mobility. It moves quickly, can jump far, and with some leveling will easily hold enough weight to match your max weight; but will never hold enough weight for efficient bulk transportation. Ostriches can also fit through sloped roof doors, making them easy to transport inside ships for protection. When riding you get a significant Hyperthermal Insulation Buff (more info).
Breeding
You can Breed Ostriches in the following biomes: Western Tropics, High Desert, Low Desert.
Acceptable temperatures for Ostrich mating and offspring are between 25c and 43c.
Egg Incubation Temperatures for Ostriches are between 43c and 51c.
Combat
The ostrich isn't a good fighter but it's good for escape situations due to its high mobility.
